Q: Should I put RustSeal down first and then KBS Patch? If so, how to I get the KBS Patch to stick to RustSeal?
A: Yes, to stop the rust, it is always best to get 2 coats of RustSeal down on the prepped surface (KBS Klean/RustBlast or sandblast) before you apply the KBS Patch. To get the KBS Patch to stick to the RustSeal, allow the RustSeal to fully cure 24 hours and then scuff the RustSeal with 300 grits before applying the KBS Patch to the surface.

When I was wire wheeling my trunk pan, I put a hole in it. Dang! Called KBS and they recommend this KBS Patch to strengthen up the underside and cover the hole. I did that, it worked great. Cured it with the light. Then painted the inside of the trunk with Rustseal. Looks awesome. Feels plenty strong.

I have used other brands and been satisfied. We have a paint and body shop and use quit a bit of this product. I though I would order the KBS brand because The other products I have ordered worked very good. I opened the first package and cut out my forms to install and the product felt a little different [the sticky side didn't feel real sticky] then what I have been using. After installing it would not harden in the first hour so I left the light on it overnight and it finally hardened. I almost sent the other package back for a refund but decided to go ahead and use it. The second package was fine, it would stick to the part and cured in an hour. I think the first package did not have enough activator in it but since I had opened and cut a patch I didn't send it back. Overall if all the packages would work like the second one I would buy more but am not sure I can trust all the quality to be the same. Greg
